Arikoyama Castle was built in 1574 by Yamana Suketoyo on the steep Arikoyama mountain, 321m above sea level. However, six years later, it was captured and fell to Oda Nobunaga. After that, an Oda clan daimyo became the lord of the castle, but it was abandoned when Izushi Castle was built at the foot of the mountain. Izushi Castle was built by Koide Yoshihide in 1604 and continued to exist until the Meiji period. The Shinko-ro Tower, moat, and stone walls still remain, and in the Showa period, the corner tower and castle gate were restored, and it is now maintained as Tojobashi River Park.
