Mt. Hachibuse

【Description】
This mountain formed from lava in eruptions due to volcanic activity 2.54 million years ago, around the same time as nearby Mt. Hyono (elevation 1,510 meters). The lava, which is also called Hachibuse andesite, covers a swath that includes Mt. Torokawa. The mountain stands at the eastern end of Japan's Chugoku region. You'll find flat highlands near the summit and ski slopes near the foot.
