Complete Your Own Sakai-Tohji Knife with Artisan

Sakai-Tohji knives are sought after by some of the best-known chefs in the world. Each is a masterpiece that symbolizes Sakai and the culmination of a tradition. Create your own Sakai-Tohji knife—once you use one, you’ll be a convert and can treasure it for many years to come. We have three experience courses to choose from and, during each, you will complete your masterpiece while learning the creation process and how to engrave your commemorative aluminum plate from an artisan. Your finished Sakai-Tohji knife will be one of a kind and will make for a great addition to your home or a gift, and you can take home a commemorative key chain. Established in 1805 in Izumi Riki, “Sakai-Tohji Knife Museum” has an extensive exhibition that covers the history of knives, tools for making them and various kinds of knives for various purposes. For a description of each course, please see the tour schedule. - Visit the Sakai-Tohji Knife Museum and experience traditional handle fitting and blade straightening - Visit Sakai Tohji Knife Museum and make a key chain with your name engraved on it - Watch an artisan at work and then join a blade sharpening experience and then make a key chain with your name engraved on it
