Bringing special memories to Japan's oldest washi paper, ”Awa Washi,” which boasts a history of 1,300 years.

The origin of Awa Washi dates back to around 1300 when a group called the Inbe, who served the imperial court, actively engaged in cultivating hemp and kozo (mulberry) to produce paper and fabric. As "creators of new materials," Awagami Factory has liberated washi paper from the confines of the traditional world, conducting various techniques and material research, and developing washi that can be used for inkjet printing, highly esteemed by artists worldwide for its quality. After learning the art of papermaking from a washi craftsman, you can create your artwork by printing your favorite photos or memories on washi paper.
