Discover Kyo-yuzen, a traditional craft dating from the Edo period, with a workshop tour and hand-painted yuzen experience
Take a tour of our workshop and try your hand at hand-painted yuzen dyeing. After looking at videos and displays showing how hand-painted yuzen kimonos are made, take a tour of the workshop. If you wish, you can try your hand at yuzen dyeing to make a decorative fabric frame, handkerchief, or obiage (stole). Please come and visit us if you are interested in traditional Japanese culture, or want to see the process of Kyo-yuzen dyeing by skilled craftspeople. There are plenty of sights nearby, including Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. Please drop by while you are sightseeing in Kyoto.
