A tour of Japan's only silk photo-weaving factory, making products used at Kyoto's Kiyomizu-dera Temple
In the Tango region by the sea in northern Kyoto, the textile weaving technique of Nishijin-ori has been passed down through the generations for about 50 years. See the traditional technique of Nishijin-ori at first hand. Watch products like neckties, construction materials and obi sashes for kimonos being woven on Jacquard machines to create delicate patterns, and see how the Jacquard machine works. Our woven products are also used for wedding gifts and official ceremonies. If you are lucky, you may be able to watch Japan's only silk photo-weaving process. Corporate visits are also welcome.
